Schluter-DESIGNBASE-SL is a finishing profile that can replace wall plinths. It offers a clean finish, and is simply attached to the wall using the appropriate adhesive. You can also add an optional sealing lip, which will protect the floor-wall transition from humidity and reduce impact noise. The profile is offered in anodized aluminum, colored aluminum and brushed stainless steel.
Maintenance: The DESIGNBASE-SL profile requires no special care or maintenance and is resistant to mold and fungus. Clean the profile periodically using a neutral cleaning product. In the case of anodized aluminum and colored aluminum, avoid using abrasive cleaners.

1. DESIGNBASE-SL sticks to walls using KERDI-FIX adhesive or another suitable adhesive. Before applying the adhesive, make sure the surfaces are free of substances that interfere with bonding, such as oil or grease.
2. Apply beads of adhesive to the back of the profile, then place it on the wall, ensuring that it is well supported over its entire surface. For the stainless steel version of the profile, the adhesive must be extended above and below the foam spacer.
3. The aluminum accessories must be slipped into the profiles during installation. Stainless steel accessories must be added after installation of the profile. Install the corners, connectors and closure caps using an elastic, waterproofing adhesive (e.g. KERDI-FIX or silicone). Before installation, any substance that may harm bonding (e.g. grease) must be removed.
4. Use a suitable cleaning agent to remove any excess adhesive around the profile. Remove the protective film. Note: The optional sealing lip fits into the profile before installation. We press it firmly into the profile (from the front for the aluminum version and from the rear for the stainless steel version), so that it is flush with the front of the profile.
