Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN is a drainage mat with passive capillary and decoupling, which is installed outdoors on a slope of 1.5 cm per meter minimum. Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN consists of a polyethylene mat with, on the one hand, a structure of studs in the shape of truncated cones approximately 4 mm high, to which a permeable polypropylene non-woven is glued, and on the other hand studs in the shape of truncated pyramids placed upside down, approximately 2 mm high. These studs create dovetails on the underside used to anchor the adhesive mortar. This must be placed on the support using a 6 x 6 mm notched spatula; the Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN mat will be embedded in this mortar. The white non-woven fabric on top of the mat is used to receive the adhesive mortar intended for fixing the covering. This non-woven fabric is permeable to water and steam, and allows rapid drying of the adhesive mortar, while preventing water from rising in the covering (passive capillary action). Due to their close spacing, the truncated cone-shaped blocks can withstand pressures of up to 50 t/m², the dovetails also ensuring very good adhesion to the support. Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN is suitable for indoor decoupling for the installation of large format tiles (greater than 60 x 60).
