Description

The Schluter-DITRA and DITRA-XL membrane is specially designed for ceramic and natural stone tiles. It provides a separation function which prevents cracking of tiles and grout. Made of polyethylene, the DITRA and DITRA-XL membrane serves as a waterproofing layer protecting moisture-sensitive substrates, such as plywood/OSB. Gaps under the membrane allow excess moisture and vapor to escape from the substrate – otherwise the tile could be damaged. The DITRA and DITRA-XL membrane fulfills all these functions, in addition to adequately ensuring the support and distribution of the load of the tiled covering.

• Ensures uncoupling, sealing, steam management and distribution of heavy loads to preserve the durability and integrity of tiled installations
• DITRA has a nominal thickness of 1/8" (3 mm) – limits the thickness of the tiles and the height of transitions with lower coverings
• Installs over concrete, plywood, OSB, gypsum, existing vinyl floors, structural planks, subfloors and radiant floor heating systems
• Presents a structure of crisscrossed ribs, and, underneath, a non-woven felt which will stick to the substrate without the cavities filling with mortar
